A relief convoy will deliver food, water and medical supplies to the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky on Oct 30, following the arrival of a multi-national team at the operation’s final staging point. Ukrainian lawmaker Davyd Arakhamia said representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the U.S. reached the site on Wednesday to finalize the transport of aid into the blockaded Kherson region settlement.
The mission is operating under a local ceasefire brokered by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump that began Oct 27 and runs through Nov 1. Four journalists from Newsmax are embedded with the officials to act as neutral observers and document the proceedings. Under the terms of the truce, which President Vladimir Putin praised on Tuesday, coordinated humanitarian efforts in the region are to be conducted at least once a month.
