The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has removed the distance constraints previously placed on its missile program, granting the military a new mandate to target adversaries without geographic restrictions. Spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi said at a press conference that the 2,000 km range limit was lifted by order of Iran’s Supreme Leader. Mohebbi added that the force is prepared to use asymmetric warfare to strike the material and non-material assets of hostile countries beyond their own borders.
The move follows assessments from U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee that Iran has already increased its ballistic missile delivery capacity to 4,100 km, which he says puts major European capitals including London and Berlin within strike range from Tehran. Mohebbi also confirmed that the IRGC will establish readiness to revise the nation’s nuclear doctrine if ordered to do so by state leadership.
