US Central Command has a plan ready to strike Iran as early as Wednesday, immediately after Tuesday’s US midterm elections, the New York Times reported. The preparations leave the final decision to President Donald Trump, whose top officials are split between those urging him to rely on the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to bring down the Iranian government through economic pressure and others arguing that only military action will weaken it. Flight tracking data separately showed multiple US Air Force C-17 cargo planes flying from Fort Bliss in Texas via Ramstein Air Base in Germany to Nevatim and Ovda airbases in southern Israel to replenish THAAD and Patriot air defense batteries.
