Russian President Vladimir Putin spent most of his 90 minute call with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre lecturing them on medieval Slavic history rather than discussing a Ukraine peace deal, according to the Financial Times, citing three people familiar with the conversation. Following the call, which had been scheduled for 20 minutes, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the war in Ukraine “will continue” and “shows a tendency toward escalation.”
