The Russian government will soon disclose a schedule for high-level peace negotiations between Moscow, Kyiv, and Washington. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that the trilateral discussions to end the conflict could begin on Nov 10, shortly after the US midterm elections, though President Donald Trump hinted that the participants might not meet in person. The Kremlin confirmed that the specific date for the talks will be announced in the near future.
The proposed summit follows efforts by the Trump administration to offer economic incentives to secure a ceasefire. These discussions, which included a visit to Moscow by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in early September, involve a potential postwar framework for American oil companies to resume operations at the Sakhalin-1 project and restoration of deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline. While the White House views these ties as an incentive to bring Vladimir Putin to the table, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak stated that Russia is not currently in talks with the US regarding the return of American oil projects.
