At least 600,000 people lost electricity, with damage to 26 power system facilities and four oil and gas sites, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. At least three people were killed in Kyiv. The capital’s CHP-4 power plant and a residential building were hit. Zelenskyy urged President Donald Trump to impose strong sanctions on Russia and sought additional Patriot missile interceptors.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine received no advance warning from partners for the second time that week. “Our systems detected these missiles only when they were already virtually on approach to Kyiv,” he said. Trump and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said intelligence sharing continued, with Sybiha attributing the previous night’s delayed alert to the type of weapon Russia used. Zelenskyy accused Moscow of targeting energy infrastructure covered by Trump’s announced ceasefire.
