SK Hynix plans to spend more than KRW 60 trillion to repurchase and cancel its shares and distribute over KRW 30 trillion in cash dividends as the central components of a KRW 100 trillion (~$75B) shareholder return program for 2026. The capital return follows a third quarter in which the company’s revenue topped KRW 100 trillion for the first time to reach KRW 104.62 trillion, while operating profit hit a record KRW 83.33 trillion on surging demand for AI-linked memory chips.
For Q3, the semiconductor firm declared a dividend of KRW 20,000 per share, which includes a KRW 10,000 special payout derived from gains on its stake in Japan’s Kioxia. Despite the record operating results and a new KRW 20 trillion share repurchase approved today, net income for the quarter was KRW 39.53 trillion, missing analyst estimates of roughly KRW 59 trillion due to foreign exchange and investment-asset losses. The board said it intends to implement the broader return plan in stages through the end of the 2026 fiscal year.
