The South Korean semiconductor maker anticipates a prolonged imbalance between the production and consumption of memory chips, stating that the current supply constraints will likely last until 2030. To secure future revenue during this projected shortage, SK Hynix has signed long-term agreements with 14 major cloud service providers, covering more than 50% of its total production capacity for 2027 and 2028.
The forward guidance follows a record third quarter in which the company’s revenue topped 100 trillion won ($78.9B) for the first time, while operating profit hit 83.3 trillion won on an 80% operating margin. SK Hynix said its next-generation HBM4 chips became its primary product starting in the fourth quarter. The chipmaker also confirmed a 100 trillion won shareholder return plan for the 2026 fiscal year, including a combination of cash dividends and share repurchases totaling more than 60 trillion won.
