CEO Vlad Tenev told the ‘Sources’ podcast that the shift to tokenize equities is a permanent development in the financial industry and is not reversible. Tenev argued that letting users trade stock tokens, which generally lack voting rights, allows companies to attract fresh capital from a global pool of investors. The retail broker also noted that more than 100,000 customers have already begun using its AI agent for automated trading.
The remarks follow a public campaign against stock tokenization, highlighted by a full-page advertisement in the Wall Street Journal. Ahead of Robinhood’s Oct 27 earnings call, data suggests its Robinhood Chain earned more than $40M in revenue and handled $85B in decentralized exchange volume last quarter. Tokenized assets on the network total more than $330M, with $130M in those holdings consisting of equities.
