Clearing agencies and other firms subject to market-systems rules will be the focus of a new regulatory roadmap as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission outlines its priorities for upcoming oversight. For fiscal 2027, the agency’s Division of Examinations will specifically target tokenization in its review of market-infrastructure entities.
The SEC developed the priorities based on industry engagement, market developments, and investor concerns to help identify risk and prevent fraud. The agency stated that these guidelines serve as a roadmap for examiners but do not establish new legal obligations for the firms being reviewed.
