Speaking at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in New Delhi, Sunak urged mid-sized nations to become a "poisonous shrimp" to carve out strategic economic leverage within a more turbulent global environment.

The comments follow an opening warning from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that global supply chains, trade, and technology have been weaponized as instruments of coercion. Other summit attendees include Blackstone COO Jonathan Gray and Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, who said his group will continue to build infrastructure essential to the world even if projects are slow to deliver.
