The Ukrainian military launched a massive wave of unmanned aircraft against the city of Ryazan on Nov 5, targeting an industrial zone and causing significant damage to fuel infrastructure. The raid involved more than 100 drones, causing a large-scale fire at the Rosneft-operated Ryazan oil refinery and striking a logistics hub for the e-commerce firm Wildberries. Russian authorities reported that the attack triggered regional power outages by damaging electrical lines and left one person injured.
The targeted refinery processes up to 17M tons of crude oil annually and serves as a primary supplier of diesel and aviation fuel for the Russian military and the Moscow region. The strike is the 6th targeted hit on Russian oil infrastructure in seven days. In a simultaneous escalation, Moscow claims it struck a Nova Poshta delivery hub in Kharkiv, though those strikes have not been independently verified.
