Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ordered Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei during a Tuesday meeting to “maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz” and ensure Tehran’s conditions are met to end the war with the US and exit a state of “neither war nor peace.” The directive came even as US-aided oil shipments through the strait have recovered to about 82% of normal and Middle East crude exports have rebounded above prewar levels, with Brent crude slipping 1.2% on the readout to trade above $115 a barrel while S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures rose 0.4% and 0.6%.
