The recent seizures involved 90 biodiesel shipments totaling 620,000 gallons at Port Everglades and the Port of Houston. Homeland Security Investigations, Customs and Border Protection, and the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security intercepted the fuel, valued at over $2.8M, before it could reach ENETEC, a sanctioned energy firm. The US Coast Guard also captured two other Cuba bound fuel ships earlier this year as part of an effort to disrupt illegal fuel trafficking to the island.
