Iran’s naval forces have announced a series of strikes against shipping vessels that the military accuses of breaking maritime regulations in the passage connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. The IRGC Navy reported that 11 oil tankers were incinerated or sank in the Strait of Hormuz between Oct 25 and Nov 2.
The military specified that the attacks were launched on the date that CENTCOM Commander Gen. Brad Cooper visited the region. According to the IRGC, several of the destroyed tankers were completely submerged on the seabed following the incidents.
