The decline is most acute in Central Asia, where legal entry fell 99%, and across African and Muslim-majority countries, which saw drops of about 90%. Other visa categories including H-4 dependents and H-2B seasonal workers fell 81% and 80% respectively, while F-1 students declined 41%. Conversely, legal immigration from Canada rose 142%, Mexico grew 17%, and H-2A agricultural visas increased 8%. These changes, implemented via executive action, return US immigration to levels not seen since the 1920s.
