The Democratic party has flipped the lower house of Congress, regaining a governing majority based on seat counts tracked by the Associated Press. According to the latest tally, Democrats have secured 228 seats, surpassing the 218 required to take control of the chamber.
The current count for Republicans stands at 139 seats, while another 68 seats are considered too close to call. The shift in leadership comes as part of the Nov 4 election results for the U.S. House of Representatives.
