Anthropic disclosed $131.7 billion in cash and short-term investments in its public IPO filing, a reserve consisting of $112.4 billion in cash and equivalents and $19.3 billion in marketable securities as of June 30 that exceeds Nvidia and Apple combined and trails only Berkshire Hathaway and Alphabet among non-bank US companies. The Claude maker retained roughly 93% of the $141.1 billion it has raised to date—including $110.8 billion in the first half of 2026 and a $65.2 billion Series H round in May—burning $9.7 billion cumulatively as it applied to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, targeting a debut the week of Nov 16.
The S-1 registration statement showed first-half revenue surged 14-fold year over year to $16.3 billion from $1.16 billion, with Anthropic posting its first GAAP operating profit of $974 million in the second quarter on $11.6 billion in sales and narrowing its six-month operating loss to $693 million from $2.14 billion. A headline first-half net loss of $80.7 billion stemmed from noncash accounting charges as Anthropic’s valuation climbed to $965 billion in May, including a $72.4 billion fair-value markup that lifted the carrying value of $6.2 billion in remaining Amazon convertible notes to $108.6 billion from $41.7 billion at year-end, alongside $8.8 billion tied to spring note purchase agreements with Google and Amazon. Excluding those marks, first-half adjusted net income reached $2.7 billion, while operating cash flow hit $3.9 billion.
