US and Israeli officials are coordinating a potential weeklong bombing campaign against Iran’s leadership, energy facilities, nuclear sites and infrastructure after the US midterm elections if diplomatic talks fail, Axios reported, citing US, Israeli and regional sources. To avert the strikes, mediators led by Qatar are pressing Tehran to allow UN inspectors into its bombed nuclear sites in exchange for limited sanctions relief and access to frozen funds, a proposal Iranian officials are expected to take to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei for approval in the coming days.
