House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer separately told Fox News that there are "multiple fronts where you could get a search warrant issued" based on Omar's financial disclosures, which DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro's office is also investigating. Comer pointed to a California winery co-owned by Omar's husband, Tim Mynett, that accounted for up to $25 million on her disclosure form before shutting down in April, saying the business "was shut down because of fraud" after "selling investors barrels of wine to be aged, but there was nothing in the barrels."
Comer previously questioned how Mynett's firms, eStCru and Rose Lake Capital, rose in reported value from $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million in 2024 before Omar amended the filings. Washington Free Beacon reporter Andrew Kerr also questioned how the winery funded a $780,000 lawsuit settlement in November 2024 after holding $650 in its bank account in February 2024 when it could not meet payroll. The Justice Department and Department of Homeland Security declined to comment to Fox News, and Omar has denied wrongdoing.
