The Ohio Casino Control Commission sent notifications to sports betting firms stating that supporting unregulated gambling platforms may lead to the revocation of their permits. Interim Director Andromeda Morrison said these warnings were part of another round of communications to firms that use prediction markets as a means of betting.
The agency has expanded its focus to the infrastructure behind these markets, issuing a formal letter targeting prediction market service providers. The OCCC aims to stop operators from facilitating unregulated betting activities that fall outside the state’s current gaming laws.
