2 Men Deny Spying for Iran on London Israeli Embassy

Nematollah Shahsavani and Alireza Farasati appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday to challenge allegations of gathering intelligence on behalf of a foreign government. The defendants, ages 41 and 22, face charges under the National Security Act for conducting hostile surveillance of the Israeli Embassy and Bevis Marks, the oldest synagogue in Britain, during the summer of 2025.

Prosecutors allege the dual British-Iranian national and his associate targeted various Jewish and Israeli-linked sites in London throughout July and August to assist an Iranian intelligence service. Both men have pleaded not guilty to the charges and are scheduled to stand trial in April 2027.
