The insider sales contrast with an internal memo earlier this week in which Intrator told employees that "there will be periods of time when the market misunderstands and acts irrationally" as CoreWeave shares fell 12% on Friday to bring their weekly loss to 25%. The rout centered on the company's roughly $50 billion in debt and lease obligations, with yields on its unsecured bonds topping 15% and five year credit default swaps reaching a record 1,194.5 basis points, implying a more than 60% probability of default within five years alongside $7.5 billion of debt coming due by June 2027.
While unsecured bondholders price in distress, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said on Thursday that CoreWeave does not need a backstop and that its cost of capital is "actually decreasing." Project-finance facilities backed by specific GPU clusters and customer contracts make up the majority of CoreWeave's debt, and pricing on those delayed-draw term loans tightened from 9.62 percentage points over the benchmark rate in 2023 to 2.25 percentage points in March 2026, before widening to 5.50 percentage points on a five year facility in July backed by three year contracts with non-investment-grade customers.
