The Democratic incumbent won a second term in the state’s highest office after defeating Republican Andy Biggs to retain the governor’s mansion in Arizona. The result allows Democrats to secure a trifecta in the state, giving the party control of the governor’s office and both chambers of the legislature.
Associated Press data showed Hobbs holding 58.6% of the vote with 935,788 ballots, while Biggs trailed with 39.9% and 637,496 votes when 65% of results were reported. Biggs, a member of the US House and ally of Donald Trump, previously opposed the certification of the 2020 election. Prediction market Polymarket had assigned Hobbs a 99% chance of victory prior to the official call by Decision Desk HQ at 10:11 PM EST.
