A severe shortage of high-end hardware is hitting AI developers in China as deliveries of advanced processors fall far below original requests. The semiconductor firm announced that shipments to the region will cover just 1% of the $70 billion in RTX chips currently on order.
The supply gap is a result of manufacturing hurdles as the company struggles to ramp up capacity to meet a spike in global demand. Chinese firms expect to continue receiving only a small fraction of their requested hardware over the next several months.
