Omar’s reported assets tied to her husband’s businesses rose from as little as $15,000 to as much as $30 million in a single year. She amended her disclosures in April, reducing the couple’s reported assets to between $18,004 and $95,000. Her office said the original filings failed to account for liabilities. Omar has denied wrongdoing.

Investigators have also subpoenaed relatives, including her sister Sahra Noor, the New York Times reported. No charges against Omar have been announced. She called the search “an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.”
