GitHub introduced a managed service called Foundry to help developers build long-running AI agents that can reason and use tools across multiple repositories. The expansion of the company’s agentic toolset also includes Copilot Projects, which provides an orchestration loop to manage agent sessions and pull requests, and Copilot automations to handle routine repository tasks such as issue triage and code reviews.
These tools extend the functionality of Copilot Fusion, the orchestration system that routes tasks among various OpenAI and Anthropic models. GitHub says the system’s current iteration is 40% faster and provides up to 77% lower costs for frontier-level quality than previous configurations. To encourage adoption, the company is offering a 30% discount on Copilot Fusion usage through Nov 30.
