Detailed assessments of the Oct 24 Ukrainian drone strikes in Omsk show that one block of an Ozon logistics warehouse was completely burned down and a second block was partially destroyed. At the Omsky Kauchuk petrochemical plant, the raid sparked a fire in the Unit D3 gas fractionation shop and damaged the Unit D5 final production unit for methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). Separate strikes at the Poliom plant burned more than 40 tons of polypropylene products and damaged inter-shop pipelines.
The operation utilized FP-1 long-range drones to reach the industrial hub in Siberia, located more than 2,500 km from the Ukrainian border. The Omsky Kauchuk plant is the largest producer in Russia of MTBE, a key additive for high-octane gasoline, while Omsk itself serves as the country’s second-largest diesel production center, previously contributing about 6.5% of national output.
