The AI startup has arranged for the investing platform RetailBook to manage the sale of its shares to individual traders in Britain as part of its broader market debut. The partnership coincides with a formal filing for an initial public offering with the SEC, a move that allows the public to examine the company’s financial statements for the first time.
Anthropic plans to allocate up to 20% of its potential $100B offering to retail investors, using Citigroup to coordinate distributions in markets including Canada, Japan and the UK. In the US, JPMorgan will lead the retail campaign, a role the bank previously held for SpaceX’s $86.2B IPO. Despite the push for individual participation, reports indicate that retail investors in many Asian markets may find it difficult to obtain shares.
