The AI firm has ramped up its physical protection for employees and top management as public opposition to the development of artificial intelligence intensifies. Documents submitted for the company’s initial public offering show that Anthropic spent a combined $4.1 million on security for CEO Dario Amodei and President Daniela Amodei, part of a broader effort to maintain around-the-clock security operations for its staff.
This expenditure is roughly 30 times the $135,500 median security spend for executives across S&P 500 companies. In comparison, other major corporations allocate more to these services, with Meta spending $24 million and Blackstone spending $13.5 million annually.
