An armed military group caused more than $75 million in direct losses to the Libyan state by closing valve number 7 on the Sharara-Zawiya crude oil pipeline on Monday. Total output losses reached 720,362 barrels as of September 24, with daily production at the Sharara field falling from its 340,000 bpd capacity to between 100,000 and 127,000 bpd. While much of the remaining output is being redirected to the Mellitah port, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported daily losses of approximately 130,000 barrels.
