Trump confirmed on Friday afternoon that he watched what he called "tough" Fox News segments the night before and that morning. During the Thursday appearance, Hannity called Zacharia's 14-minute Tuesday briefing debut "widely panned" after she took three questions, got her to confirm she failed the 2011 California bar exam and never retook it, and questioned her about 15 social media posts over the past two years identifying her as an attorney.
On Fox & Friends on Friday morning, Zacharia also acknowledged she had not told Trump about failing the bar exam before he appointed her and introduced her as an "attorney," saying, "Those questions weren't asked." Following her Tuesday debut, one White House official had warned she needed to improve "fast, otherwise she'll break Scaramucci's record," referring to former communications director Anthony Scaramucci's 11-day tenure.
