The barrage left at least 600,000 people without power and damaged 26 power system sites and four oil and gas facilities, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. He reported 39 missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against Kyiv, the surrounding region and Kharkiv. Ukraine’s air force reported intercepting four of the 39 missiles. Russia’s defense ministry confirmed targeting communications and energy infrastructure.
Zelenskyy accused Russia of striking energy infrastructure covered by President Donald Trump’s announced ceasefire and said partners had provided no advance warning for the second time that week. “Our systems detected these missiles only when they were already virtually on approach to Kyiv,” he said. Trump and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said intelligence sharing continued. “We are helping them and we are sharing intel,” Trump said Tuesday.
