Russian engineers have resumed operations at an Iranian atomic facility following a security crisis. Rosatom has returned 135 employees to the Bushehr nuclear plant, increasing the workforce from the approximately 20 personnel who remained on site during the recent instability. The company evacuated more than 600 staff in late February 2026 when military strikes by the US and Israel targeted Iran.

The return of staff signals an expansion of nuclear cooperation between Moscow and Tehran. This redeployment allows the Russian state nuclear operator to restore technical maintenance and processing activities at the plant that were disrupted by the February conflict.
