US Approves $2.27B Arms Sales to UAE Kuwait and Egypt

The Trump administration has cleared the transfer of Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System-II guidance sections to the United Arab Emirates for $1.041 billion. Washington also notified Congress of an $832 million sale of Javelin missiles to Egypt and a $400 million package for Kuwait providing repair and return services for Patriot missiles.

The UAE systems convert unguided rockets into precision weapons capable of shooting down drones to improve interoperability with US forces, according to the State Department. Kuwait will use the Patriot services to strengthen homeland defense and counter attacks from Iran.
