SpaceX Launches Classified USSF-481 Mission for Space Force

A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from pad 4E in California on Oct. 16, deploying a payload into polar low Earth orbit. The flight conducted the classified USSF-481 mission for the U.S. Space Force, which delivered a "Space Based Sensing and Targeting task order 2" system into position.

SpaceX initiated propellant loading for the rocket after confirming that all flight systems were nominal and weather was favorable for liftoff. The launch was carried out from the California coast to place the classified hardware into its designated polar trajectory.
