The narrow margin represents a shift from Oct. 16, when Democrats held a 3.9 point lead with 40.8% of 257,570 returned statewide ballots. Republicans currently maintain a registration advantage of 313,000 and hold 101,280 more outstanding ballots than Democrats. These totals do not account for split ticket voting or the final breakdown of independent voters on election day.
