The instability began after Reuters reported that Solidigm was considering a 2027 IPO that could raise $15B and value the unit at $150B. Such a listing would represent the largest semiconductor debut in U.S. history, exceeding previous valuations like Cerebras at $56.4B and Arm at $54.5B. Solidigm was formed after SK Hynix acquired Intel's memory and SSD operations for approximately $9B, and roughly 60% of the unit's inbound talent this year has come from Intel.
