None of the 108 escape attempts successfully reached the host machine. SPACE is the first of several planned components for an Agentic Runtime Platform designed to help developers scale a secure ecosystem for AI agent products.

Perplexity Open Sources SPACE First Component of Agentic Runtime Platform

The software used to isolate AI agents during execution is now available under an Apache 2.0 license. Released by Perplexity, the platform known as SPACE assigns each agent task a dedicated Firecracker microVM to control outbound traffic and credentials from outside the environment. The system currently powers Perplexity Computer as well as the company's internal reinforcement learning training and evaluation workloads.
