FBI Arrests Alabama Fortnite Player for Threats to Kill Agents

Edward Lee Frith, a 29 year old from Fairhope, Alabama, faces federal charges for threatening to kill police officers and FBI agents during voice chats in the video game Fortnite. The FBI arrested Frith on September 23 after Epic Games provided the agency with voice recordings on September 20. Frith is charged with interstate threatening communications, has pleaded not guilty, and is currently detained until his trial in December.

Using the username WagesOfNinja, Frith had accessed his game account more than 1,700 times. The recordings submitted by Epic Games show him discussing the murder of an unnamed person and daring FBI agents to come to his home, at which point he claimed he would shoot them. He also spoke about killing a police officer if he were arrested and subsequently committing suicide.
