The rise of artificial intelligence is straining the production capacity of GE Vernova, where the order book for gas turbines reached 116 GW from 50 GW over five quarters. With AI data centers now representing approximately 20% of the total book, the company has seen reservations for production slots triple to 63 GW, forcing some customers to pay deposits to secure their place in the queue.
Increased wait times have allowed the power generation equipment maker to raise prices for orders in the first half of 2026 by more than 20% compared to late 2025 levels. GE Vernova anticipates it will be mostly sold out of capacity through 2030 and will report updated targets in its third-quarter results on Oct 28.
