Newly surfaced texts also show an exchange two days after the alleged assault, commentator Michael Tracey reported. One accused man called Doe an “amazing person” and said he and others were trying to stop gossip. Tracey quoted her reply as: “I don't think we should feel any shame... our body our choice.” Doe alleges she was too drunk and drugged to consent. All seven men deny wrongdoing, and no criminal charges have been filed.
Doe sued Cornell and the fraternity members last month. New York Attorney General Letitia James has taken over the reopened criminal investigation, while former acting US Attorney General Sally Yates will lead an independent review of Cornell's prevention of and response to sexual misconduct. Faculty senators have introduced a no-confidence resolution over the administration's handling of the case, and hundreds of students rallied Monday in support of Doe.
