Oracle will integrate Google’s custom TPU AI chips into its cloud platform starting in 2027, becoming the first hyperscaler besides Google to host the hardware. The move, announced at the Oracle AI World event in Las Vegas, adds the TPU 8t for training and TPU 8i for inference to the company’s Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) offerings as part of a strategy to provide more choice in AI inference.
The cloud provider is also adding specialized inference systems from Cerebras and SambaNova to its data centers and expanding NVIDIA Vera Rubin Superclusters to a multi-gigawatt scale. In addition to hardware updates, Oracle expanded its enterprise collaboration with OpenAI by integrating ChatGPT and Codex into four new business workflows and introduced Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud as a native first-party service on OCI.
