Changpeng Zhao, the co-founder and former CEO of Binance, appealed to Elon Musk on Friday to cease his public criticism of the cryptocurrency exchange. The request came after the SpaceX CEO mocked the firm in a series of social media posts following reports from CNBC that Binance had been hit by a hack totaling roughly $6.3 billion. Zhao told Musk that it was a “bad time to troll” the exchange and asked the billionaire to show support instead.
Zhao noted that Binance’s initial $500 million investment in Musk’s purchase of Twitter has grown in value to more than $1 billion, and the exchange has no current need to sell those shares. Despite the public exchange regarding the security breach, Zhao stated on Saturday that he has no interest in engaging in a fight with Musk.
