The 54 year old co-founder of Canadian cybersecurity firm CYPFER was arrested in Pennsylvania on Oct. 8 for his alleged role in a data breach of FBI personnel records. Edward Dubrovsky faces charges of conspiracy to commit extortion on behalf of the ShinyHunters hacking group, according to federal documents. In a professional reversal, Dubrovsky is a known ransomware negotiator who published a book titled "Cyber Extortion Strategic Response" last month.
