Iran Executes Mountaineer Ali-Sina Mostafavi for Pro-Israel Attacks

The judiciary's Mizan News reported on Wednesday that Ali-Sina Mostafavi was executed for his alleged role in attacks targeting civilians in Kerman. The 38 year old mountaineer was accused of conducting shootings and filming sites hit during the war to support the opposition and Israel.

Human rights group Dadban had warned that the execution was imminent after Mostafavi was moved to solitary confinement and his family was called for a final visit. Human Rights for Sports had previously listed him as an athlete at risk of execution. Mizan provided no details on the trial or the evidence presented in court.
