The action caps a three year investigation that traced the group's infrastructure to Ukraine and other parts of Eastern Europe. Authorities seized $300,000 and are working to recover more funds for targets who reportedly lost their entire life savings. Investigators also discovered a separate recovery scam where the group contacted previous victims with false offers to retrieve their stolen assets.
