Beijing’s Finance Minister held talks with the Eurogroup president and European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde on Oct. 16 to align on international financial stability. The sessions focused on macro-policy coordination and the establishment of shared frameworks for global economic governance to manage the relationship between the two powers.

China is prepared to cooperate with the EU to address disparities and tackle global imbalances, according to a series of discussions that also included the EU Commissioner for economy. The meetings were confirmed in a statement from the Chinese ministry and signal a willingness to coordinate economic policy on a global scale.
