A 14 year old student died and 24 people were injured when a military device exploded in a backpack during a school trip to the Upper Galilee. The IDF identified the ordnance as a BRB1 cluster submunition from a Hezbollah 122mm Grad rocket that a student from ORT Ma'alot Yeshiva High School found and picked up near the Mitzpe Pe'er lookout on Ramim Ridge. Police Commissioner Danny Levy stated that while authorities had previously approved and swept the hiking route, he has since ordered a temporary restriction on access to the area.
