The cryptocurrency prediction platform has provided wallet information to legal authorities as part of a crackdown on irregular wagering patterns tied to the recent Israeli elections. Polymarket has reported the activity of more than 90 suspect users to law enforcement as the company probes whether traders used inside information to place wagers on Benjamin Netanyahu or his Likud party, which Bloomberg News found were linked to over 600 wallets with no previous trading history.
The investigation centers on a string of well-timed trades that resulted in the collective withdrawal of more than $100,000 in profits. While the platform can ban individual accounts, company officials noted that funds moved off the site cannot be recovered. Adding to the scrutiny, data from Bubblemaps indicates that 101 of the accounts involved in the betting surge received their initial funding on the day of the election before polls closed.
